Yes! We are heading back to school soon, and with that comes heading out to Dollar Tree ™, Target ™, teacher supply stores, Walmart ™ and wherever else you can find items to make your classroom comfortable.

Now, let’s be clear – I do not encourage teachers to spend too much on their classroom supplies; states, school districts, and schools…heck, parents… somebody needs to pay for things teachers need.

However, I live in reality, and  I hope you do too. J

So, what should teachers buy and what? Well, teachers spend most of their day in this space. Students, depending on your grade level, come and go.

I believe we need to make our space comfortable for us – our home away from home – Once again, not condoning overspending or encouraging spending all your life in the classroom, but this space is yours, so make it your own for you to enjoy!

(Kids will enjoy it too)

Things to Remember:

•All Teachers are different; therefore, all teacher spaces are going to be different.

• The suggestions provided below are based on what you need for your classroom, your class, your school’s rules, your department’s demands, and, of course, your own preferences and style.

Obviously, whatever does not apply to you or would not work in your space, don’t get them.

Some of these items you DO NOT have to start the year with. You may see how your year is panning out and purchase as you need them. There are several items that you do not have to begin the year with. It is entirely up to you to assess how your year is progressing and acquire these items as you find them necessary.

•These things have just been a list of things I’ve used over my lots of years in the classroom or what I’ve heard from other teachers.

•This list is editable, so you’ll be able to adjust and take the list with you when you go shopping.

Go ahead and pick up your copy before you go shopping for the new school year!
