Hey ANGRY TEACHER FAM,

Are you getting your AP ENGLISH STUDENTS ready for next year?

Can we still use the pandemic (COVID 19) as a reason for our students’ drop in scores, misbehavior, apathy toward school and assignments?

Can we use the current political climate and social apathy for the aversion to college and higher ed?

Some of us may not have some of these issues, but others of us face these challenges all day, every day.

I think we can still pull some academic excitement out of the students we’re going to face next year.

These SUMMER PACKETS will have your students come to you in the new year with renewed enthusiasm and ready to work.

I use these resources every year; they’re AWESOME!

Hey, you can use these for HONORS and General students as well. These are presentation, research, reading and writing skills that our students still need! Have @ it!

Here’s how use these:

Once students have done their subject selections and it’s been determined what English classes they would be taking, I have an AP Infosession where I invite these students from the different teachers who referred them for AP English; this usually happens in the last grading period, sometime.

I meet with them, introduce myself and my expectations, I have current and sometimes past students speak to them and answer their questions about my class and content…Hey, sometimes I even feed them …just make a party out of it.

I assign the AP SUMMER PACKETS.

When we return in the beginning of the year, I already have assignments for the gradebook, and I see which students have what it takes for AP; IT’S A win-win!
